7 November 2016 – Waris Dirie to join the Alfred Fried Photography Award jury
The Alfred Fried Photography Award welcomes its new jury member Waris Dirie

In his speech Lois Lammerhuber took the opportunity to announce that Ms Waris Dirie (Desert Flower Foundation) had agreed to join the Alfred Fried Photography Award jury and would take on the patronage for the so-called „Children Call“ planned for 2017, the "Children Peace Image of the Year".

10. Juni 2016 – The Alfred Fried Photography Award 2016 - Einreichfrist zu Ende
Der 2016 zum vierten mal abgehaltene und international renommierte Fotowettbewerb erhielt heuer 16.883 Fotografien aus 127 Ländern. Die meisten Einreichungen kamen aus Indien, Deutschland, Russland, USA und Brasilien. Gegenüber 2015 – als 14.115 Bilder aus 121 Ländern eingereicht wurden – ist das eine Steigerung um 2.768 Fotos oder ca 20%.
Zur Zeit bewertet die internationale Jury die Einreichungen. Die Shortlist wird am 4. Juli 2016 veröffentlicht.
10 June 2016 – The Alfred Fried Photography Award 2016 - Entry deadline
The prestigious award, which is held 2016 the fourth time, received 16,833 photographs from 127 countries. Most entries came from India followed by Germany, Russia, USA and Brazil. Compared to 2016 with 14,115 images from 121 countries this is a rise of 2,768 photographs or 20%.
At the moment the international jury is reviewing the entries. The shortlist will be published on 4 July 2016.

Prizes:
The five best works will be honoured with the Alfred Fried Photography Award Medal, the photographers will be invited to attend the award ceremony in Vienna on 20 September 2016, with travel expenses and accommodation paid.
