On the evening of each annual “Chinese Doctors’ Day,” medical staff from various disciplines across the city’s hospitals gather at the city square to hold free clinics. Citizens come in an endless stream to seek medical advice, even forming long queues. Here, there is no ceremonial fanfare—only leaning in to listen, the touch of fingertips, and attentive care. This makes the city’s night peaceful and filled with a deeper sense of human warmth.
