A Cry of Life in Gaza

Nicola Zolin, Italy

“There is no life in Gaza” is a common saying in the strip. About 2 million people live under a blockade that isolates them from the rest of the world. Two thirds of the population are young people, whose hopes are still unbroken, despite the fact that no-one can imagine what the future holds. In sports activities some people have found a way not to think about the pain and the sorrow. Some of them have been injured during the great march of return, others during the shelling by the Israeli army in recent decades. Their stories are deeply connected with the moment of greatest pain in the strip, but their determination to achieve their goals is an inspiration for their friends and families who find in them light and courage to deal with an uncertain future.
