The Little Savior
After the Second World War, often described as the “total war”, during which no distinction was made between the armed forces and civilians, famine pervading the whole of Europe. Many soldiers and citizens died of starvation and many others fell ill. Everything seemed hopeless, until a little girl with a big heart came with a sack full of bread to the hungry soldiers. She also fed them as a reward for her kindness and generosity, a statue called “The Little Savior” was erected in her honor.
